FAQs
Who is this series for?
This series is designed for couples in any stage of their relationship—from newly together to decades in. Whether you're looking to enhance your connection, improve communication, or reinforce your foundation, or simply spend quality time in a new way this experience will provide valuable tools tailored to your unique relationship.
We call it date night for a reason, the focus is to have intentional time together strengthening your relationship in a small group setting (less than 6 other couples!)
What happens during each date night?
Each session follows a structured format to balance learning, reflection, and connection:
1. Introduction to the Topic – A new lens, tool, or concept is introduced.
2. Breakout Activities – Couples participate in small-group discussions or interactive exercises.
3. Dinner & Individual Couple Time – Enjoy a meal while engaging in a private, structured activity with your partner.
4. Closing Reflections – We come back together to discuss insights, takeaways, and next steps.
This format ensures that couples engage at their own comfort level while benefiting from the collective experience of the group.
Do we have to share personal details with the group?
No, not at all. While there are opportunities for group discussion, the focus is on protecting any personal details of each couple’s relationship. Most sharing is about how the tools are working for you, rather than personal relationship details. You are encouraged to participate in ways that feel comfortable to you.
Do we need to attend all three sessions?
Yes, this is a progressive series, meaning each month builds on the last. For the best experience, we encourage couples to commit to the full 3 part series. If an unavoidable conflict arises causing you to miss a month, we can provide an individual session to experience a condensed version of the date night so you can stay on track.
What kind of topics will we explore?
Each session introduces a new relationship-strengthening tool or perspective. Topics may include:
Values
Redefining Communication
Playfulness & Humor
Understanding Relational Influences
Communicating & Validating Needs
Creating Resilient Relationships.
What if we’re struggling in our relationship?
This series is not therapy but rather a structured opportunity to grow together through a fun date night. If you and your partner are facing significant challenges, we can discuss whether this space feels supportive for you or if additional resources might be helpful alongside participation.
Many of our couples are engaged in individual couples sessions and individual therapy in addition to the Foundations Date Night Series. This date night series is built to focus on the good things occurring in your relationship and spend quality time where couples therapy often spends more time looking at and resolving the challenges.
We’ve been together a long time—will this still be valuable for us?
Absolutely! Whether you're in the early stages of a relationship or have been together for years, this series is designed to meet couples where they are. Long-term couples often find that revisiting foundational skills brings fresh insights and helps keep connection strong.
