Mindfulness Mondays 101
Mindfulness is one of those words we hear a lot, but what does it really mean?
To put it simply, mindfulness is paying attention to the present with curiosity instead of judgment.
This series is meant to offer simple things to try in your day to day that might help reduce stress, interrupt negative thinking patterns, and bring more calm to your life.
Try this:
Set a timer for 5-10 minutes and sit in a corner of your living space you don’t typically spend a lot of time in and just notice how differently things look from this angle.
If you’re sitting on the floor, imagine what it would be like if you went through life being that tall.
Admire the way the light filters in through the windows or how life shows up in your home.
If you notice toys strewn about or messes, try to gently redirect your thoughts and keep from judging or doing anything about it for a little while. Instead, focus on it being evidence of life being lived in a space.
Pretend you’re an archeologist from the future and what would this space tell you about the people who lived there?
